I love the movie Flow. I love the movie so much, I actually looked up the bad reviews. They all compared it to other media. One reviewer called it a less funny Madagascar. Another idiot claimed it didn’t go anywhere, but the dumbest review said that Flow was the product of a “cool pastor” trying to make the Noah’s Ark story sound totally rad for the kids by using a cat. No, the cat doesn’t build the ark because of a heavenly voice or get drunk afterwards, but as far as that stupid reviewer was concerned, every story with a flood is just Noah’s Ark with cats and obsessive lemurs.
At the risk of sounding like the quintessential “cool” Bible guy, my article on Job Chapter 15 heavily relies on comparing Eliphaz’s sanctimony to Jello Biafra’s empathy in regards to Israel. It’s not a pop culture reference drawn out of a hat. I genuinely admire Jello Biafra for finding nuance and humanity in a conflict that most non-Jews (and quite a few Jews) treat like the greatest football game ever (people die! Take a side! Accuse the other side of genocide!!!!!! Yay?). His 2011 article is even more admirable as Ireland has decided to join South Africa in drawing focus away from the crimes of their allies Sudan, China, Iran, etc., etc. by spreading blood libel at the so-calls International Criminal Court (which has no jurisdiction but assholes can say “international law” in their arguments).
Job Chapter 15
We are all afraid. We want to simplify complicated issues. No one wants to sit with their feelings or listen to pain. Defensive posturing is our default. Personally, I've been angry since October 7. Thank you Jello Biafra for reminding me that not every non-Jew sees Israel in absolute dehumanizing terms. His
Speaking of the Handmaid’s Tale shitshow that is the Iranian regime, Chapter 16 is about Nika Shakarami. I once had a friend who went tanky. I argued with her as she perpetually defended Maoist reeducation camps, Soviet ideology. She was angry when I called her a privilege white woman playing revolutionary (which was true). My breaking point was when she posted praise for the Iranian regime. When she got pushback, she used her own history dealing with American sexism to attack her critics. I told her that I was done with her. She tried to send me another long string of defensive messages like with our Mao argument, but I was done with her. Bye Hilary Barbetta. Hope you got over your brainwashing, but I seriously doubt it.
Nika Shakarami was raped and murdered by the Iranian regime for the crime for filming herself with a fucking hijab. See why I lost all patient’s for Hilary’s privileged tanky bullshit? Whatever decolonization beliefs you hold, if you are on the side of raping and murdering teenagers, you are fucking evil (I stopped talking to this former friend long before October 7. I very much suspect she was cool with Hamas. She’s the kind of friend who donated to my gofundme and said that she was available to talk after a rightwing Nazi murdered Jews at Tree of Life Synagogue, but I’m 99% certain she celebrated after Islamic Nazis murdered Jews in Israel along with her leftist Nazi friends).
Anyhow, Raisi is dead. Fuck that guy.
Job Chapter 16
Her name was Nika Shakarami. She was a 16 year old Iranian girl. You can see her on videos singing without a hijab. She joined the protests against the theocracy. Security forces kidnapped her. They raped her. They beat her to death. They did it on behalf of the same regime that praises American protesters. She wasn't their only victim. A week ago, Ebra…
Finally, we have something more lighthearted - Child Sacrifice! Woo-hoo!!! Yes, Job references the place where children were murdered for their gods. Human sacrifice is fucking evil, but it was also quite common. It’s not like prima nochta where it’s exclusively one culture accusing another culture of the practice. We have the burial grounds and the laws against it. We also have modern equivalencies like Hamas training child soldiers and parents choosing their religion over their children.
I also publish books that are based on the Bible, including King David and the Spiders from Mars.
Another interesting book is about rabbinic beliefs concerning demons. Paperback comes out in April.
Sadly, I still have to ask for money, so if you can donate to my gofundme, I would be most grateful.
