Read Part 31

"Just a moment," said the old man and walked into Paul's bedroom. He took out a stick and waved it over his head. He touched all the corners and then he lit a cigar and urinated on the mattress. Rick put his hand on Paul's shoulder.

The old man walked back to Paul and slapped him again. His penis was still hanging out of his zipper. He told Paul to man up. He was punishing the mattress for all the times Paul used it to squeak out a love declaration. Paul remembered licking Agatha and the old man punched him in the gut. For just a moment Paul forgot about Agatha but then saw her sighing as if wondering when it could all be over. Rick was telling the man enough. Teddy's fist hit Paul in the nose.

"Think of that before you think of her. Believe me. That was nothing."

"Come on Paul. Let's go."

"Zip up."

"What?"

"We live in a broken world," said that Teddy, "Had we not caved to women, we could have walked around with our manhood in the wind. None of us would have to pretend."

"True," said Rick.

"Cool," said Paul without conviction.

"The whore still has you. She would have made you a slave. Do you still think that she loved you?"
