I’m posting my novel on this Substack every Sunday in 5 page increments. In the first 3 parts, Paul is introduced as a bit of a slacker. He meets a strange woman and her sister in a strip club (they aren’t strippers. They just wandered in) and gives them an umbrella from the lost & found. Then he dreams about her.
In part four, Paul goes to her place and instead of going out, they just talk. And agree to get married. Agatha, the woman, gives him a guitar.
Instead of flying to Vegas to marry Agatha, Paul goes home because he’s supposed to meet his dad and brother for lunch. His brother does not approve.
In part 6, Paul goes to a party with that guitar, joins a jam session. It seems to go well, but also the guitar belonged to a murder victim. So that’s a problem…

If you like my fiction, I recently had a story published in Spectrum: An Autistic Horror Anthology
I also publish books including The Big Bow Mystery by Israel Zangwill.
This novel is based on a story by Akinari Ueda, but also an older folktale.
